THANK GOD THERE IS ONLY ONE WAY AND THE LORD KNOWS IT!

GIVEN TO RENE - MARCH 14, 2003

It seems in the last two months I have received more e-mails concerning the impending war with Iraq and also the concern of Korea who is on the perimeter; and so the prophets have been prophesying; and the scholars have been scholarizing; and the teachers have been teacherizing; and everyone has their own opinions right or wrong.  Everyone has their pen in hand concerning the impending war and their words must ring up to heaven to the throne of God.  Did God say?  And surely it must be done this way or it must be done that way.  Prophecy, prophecy, prophecy - but did God say?

Thank God there is only one way and the Lord knows it!

Surely the towers falling down was a sign!  A sign to what?  A sign that we had better get our act together as a nation and repent!

But how can we repent, if we do not cry out for the spirit of repentance.  If we love doing evil as a nation and corruption is everywhere, and even the church cannot get along with one another.  Church splits happening here and there, bickering, jealousy, anger and hatred.

Then look at Nineveh - Jonah came preaching doom and gloom - and the king and all the countrymen (including animals) fasted and repented in ashes and sackcloth.  Good for Nineveh, they had the insight to listen, and it gave them a few extra years.

Thank God there is only one way and the Lord knows it!

Then there comes the time of too late!  Yes, too late to do anything except cry out for the mercy of the Lord.  Yes Lord, forget about the abortions where the blood runs up to your throne - forget about the abuses of mankind and perversion and greed, just bless us and prosper us and make us rich.  Yes Lord, that's what the evangelist said on TV.  We are to give our money to him and surely you will make us rich in return, prosper us, and we will live happily ever after.

Thank God there is only one way and the Lord knows it!

Now Lord, did your Word state over and over that you sent enemy armies in the Old Testament into Israel, to bring Israel to her knees, to humiliate her and cut off her supplies of pleasures and contentment.  But first you warned them with weather conditions going awry, and all sorts of signs and even prophets you sent to them prophesying doom and gloom.  Then the armies came and took Israel into captivity and there she was for many years; wretched, humbled and in servetitude. 

Why would you do that Lord?  Oh yes, your Word says that they forgot your ways and had other gods before them and went into all kinds of perverseness.  Was that application only for them, or does the same principle apply to our nation that is supposedly called by your Name?  Yes lord, I would assume that you would do the same thing to us - use the enemy to sink our ship!

Thank God there is only one way, and the Lord knows it!

Now Lord, since the handwriting is on the wall and we have been found wanting in the scales of balance, in other words, we are on the tipped end of the scale and that is not a good place to be.  What can we do?  It is inevitable - You have found us in shortage, and we are in disarray, and we are in a mess.  There is no way out of this Lord, except it be for your mercy.  We know we are about to get a jolt from you that will put us as a country flat on our faces.  Mercy and grace be granted to your people Lord, for as a nation, we shall surely need it.
