Keep
On Praying for Those in Authority
Rene Parault Jun 06, 2005
This story was told to us through a ministry that is well known
and reliable. Some of his minister friends had been at meeting
in Washington D.C. and told him this: Quote:
There were around 600 pastors gathered together in Washington
D.C. for a meeting and prayer. All of a sudden, in walked President
Bush with his secret service men. He said he came unannounced
because he did not want press coverage. The ministers ushered
him up front and he began to thank them for their support through
prayer in the recent election. He said he knew it was their prayers
and prayers of others that elected him again as president. Then
he began to tell the story of how he came home one day and went
upstairs. He heard his wife Laura behind closed doors in the bedroom
speaking in another language. She had just returned from a ladies
meeting and something must have happened. He stood outside the
door and listened. The president said he then returned, got into
his truck to go into the woods. He told the secret service men
to stand their distance. He then walked a ways and went down on
his knees and said to the Lord, "My wife received this language
first, why didn't I?" And then a warm, rushing feeling came
from his inner person and went upward and he began to speak in
another language. Then President Bush told the pastors - "I
have a lot of intelligent advisors surrounding me, but when I
have a decision, I pull apart and get down on my knees and seek
God for the answer."
We praise the Lord for a praying president . . . . believe that
George Washington did the same. |
