I VIEWED OUR NATION

I VIEWED OUR NATION

I remember standing before our school yard in Swissvale, Pa. as a little 5 year old kindergarten child and looking up to our flag. This was around 1940. The flag was flying proudly on the top of the school building, and I stood there with hand on my heart and pledged allegiance to our flag along with all the other children. This was an everyday event. What a moment, for I was overwhelmed even that young. Then we sang “God Bless America”, and is it any wonder I am still stirred today at the wonders of those words. I certainly love our country and the folks in our country, called “Americans.” Here is every race, creed and color, and this is why we are so special, for all of our ancestors came from other nations throughout the world; not discounting the American Indians who lived here. God put us all in the melting pot. Where did your ancestors come from? Some of our heritage is from 3 or 4 countries, and we are mixture of European and other strains. This is what makes us so different and so unique. One cannot pin us down to one culture, for our culture was formed out of many cultures. God formed us all in this country, the land of the free and home of the brave.

I am encouraged, for in spite of the shaking today that is going on in our land; I had a Word from the Lord in the 1980’s. The Lord said because of her sins, He was not going to spare America; judgment would surely come. But in the end He would save her. This lined up with President George Washington’s vision. ‘The 3rd war on the land of America would bring her to her knees, but then angels of the Lord intervened. She is victorious in the end’.

In 1981 in an airline ready to take off from an airport in Washington DC, the Lord gave me the understanding of the worsened condition of our country and birthed this song in me. (This was recorded years ago.)

“I viewed our nation as I stood upon a hill, the lights of the cities calling well, it is well, it is well.” But the walls had all been broken and the gates left open wide; the enemy had devoured, the poor and lonely, how they cried.

Peace is what they looked for, the love of Jesus Christ, but few were there to teach them, instead of truth there had been lies.

I viewed our nation as I stood upon a hill, the lights of the cities calling well, it is well, it is well. The little unborn babies, who had no chance to live, where did the youth and old folks go, Mom and Dad and all the kin?

There was no one to lead them, and mend the hurt within. Oh compassionate Father in heaven, hear our prayers and heal our land.

I viewed our nation, as I stood upon a hill, the lights of the cities calling well, it is well, it is well. The Lord said ‘I build my temple that no man can dare tear down. So in this very nation, my foundations were laid down. I cleanse My holy temple, this nation will I repair, and all who come to seek Me; will know that I am there’.

I viewed our nation as I stood upon a hill, the lights of the cities calling well, it is well, it is well.” Amen

And in the end, it will be well, it will be well, it will be well.
