THE PRICELESS HEART
The intrinsic value of a man is found in his heart, Therein is the deposit of what he is in his inward part.
It is never in outward riches and position nor
in intellect or fame;
In these man is often found in corruption and blame.
Nor thereafter can you change it with human might.
With
only authority to partake, not to produce, you must decide,
Choosing to become in heart what you invite inside.
Only
in a good heart can Christ live and His life demonstrate,
His presence and grace there our life to emancipate.
The
Son of God was crucified: O! In His blood there is power.
He purifies every heart who seeks Him in this hour.
In
the hidden man of the heart you choose what is of worth:
The purity of Jesus, or what is base in the earth.
Only
by love for God will you seek heart perfection,
In that alone will there be willingness and subjection.
Faith
works by love to bring purity to maturity.
Therefore love in order to believe, to know this spiritual security.
Your
heart is spirit, the container of character woven in,
A vessel of honor or dishonor revealing holiness or sin.
The
most crucial decision in life is what your heart will be:
Wicked, dark and bound, or full of light, righteous and free.
A
good heart, to our Father is of great price,
Abundant in His character, and toward sin not biased.
Remember,
what is in the abundance of the heart, the mouth will declare;
What you are, by your words you will share.
Upon
your heart does the Lord gaze to search the depths there;
Nothing is hid from His piercing eyes, all is laid bare.
The
open invitation for Christ to come into your heart,
Is only the beginning of purification, indeed only the start.
In
the coming days, trials the Spirit uses, shall reveal deeper things
still-
From greater cleansing to greater purity - only if you will.
Within
a good heart, golden seeds of character by Christ sown,
Can never by temptation’s winds be moved or blown.
O!
This is true, if in you, faith and obedience have their way;
Then by a worshipping spirit the seeds of His character will stay.
Take
heed and know only the pure in heart shall see God;
The corrupt and defiled shall never His holy hill trod.
Since
your heart is the seat and springs of life,
With all diligence keep it, from sin and all its strife.
Create
in me a clean heart, O God, you must cry;
Renew a right spirit within me, that you do not pass me by.
By
John L. Parault
“Blessed are
the pure in heart: for they shall see God.” Matt. 5:8
