Who is in control of the powers here below,
When toward us raging and hurtful demonstration show?

O! Do you perceive who in all this darkness and persecution reigns,
As evil men announce their intent to destroy us or put in chains?

You must not be moved by what you hear or see,
Only live in the consciousnesses of Father’s sovereignty.

No power or darkness can emerge of its own volition,
For it is stopped or loosed by His degree and permission.

The rule of God is an exercise of absolute power,
No matter what you shall see and experience in this hour.

Evil men think in their heart that they do as they please;
If their blind eyes were opened they would fall to their knees.

He is a God of judgment, against evil to bring down with his might
A sovereign act, which when many see will be fill with fright.

A God of love when He judges sin in world or church,
To cleanse those things which in men’s hearts perch.

The day will come when there will be no wicked men His word to resist,
Nor carnal mind His message to twist.

He will remove out of His kingdom all things that offend.
Then your sons, Father, shall shine in the glory you send.

Thy kingdom come, O Lord, thy will be done on earth as in heaven.
A day in our expectation when there will be no more evil leaven.

We must view all earth’s reality from His throne,
In order to have hope and in the fight remain strong.

What is wise, necessary and best, is a sovereign’s choice,
But we the banner of praise must hoist.

His majesty, wisdom and power, demonstrated in this dark night,
Will bring forth glory, in the perfect day ever so bright.

In His sovereignty, you know the outcome of all,
For nothing can cause His purpose and throne to fall.

Let your heart rest when His ways you do not understand.
All things He is working for your good by His ruling hand.

O! Does your soul rejoice that He is truly in control?
No greater word in this hour to you could be told.

To His sovereignty submit, O! Sweet surrender;
And to His Lordship, present a heart that is teachable and tender.

Know that in the deepest pit He is always there,
With a kingly presence of love and care.

To live is Christ, and to die is great gain;
In this truth and reality let not faith wane.

If you tremble at the dark night, which is drawing near,
Exercise your faith in His sovereignty, and do not fear.

Many things sent to your life by His shepherd’s oversight,
That you must not think are unfair and not right.

Consciousness' of His supreme rule brings sweet resignation;
This does not allow resentment to mar your relation.

Can the one created dictate to the creator?
O! Yield to His will now, and not later.

You may say, “This I do know, and have been taught;”
But has the relationship of child to Father been sought?

He reigns supreme to bring in holiness and eternal good;
Lay this to heart, for it must be understood.

The sun is setting low on this present age,
And when Jesus comes, He will destroy the enemy with his rage.

An eternal weight of glory exceeds present suffering here;
So be patient under His rule and be of good cheer.

The sum of all that has been said is, you must trust His rule;
The dark night, the stormy winds, the change and suffering, His tool.

Our own mind not sufficient, Lord we need you:
Touch us Sovereign, Father, and by your Spirit our minds renew.

We choose never to surrender the awareness of your essence and presence,
To any crises, or situation, for we never desire a sense of your absence.

“But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased.” Psa.115:3
