Honduras
-July 2006
Sharing
about the US Army Medical Teams That came To The Ministry meeting
in Comayagua.
Our latest trip into Honduras this year in July was one of the
most momentous. We were there for 14 days and had 20 meetings
with pastors, leaders and churches and also had an opportunity
to be on international radio, thanks to Bro. Miguel from Tegucigalpa.
It was a blessing. God was ministering the whole time we were
there on the subject of faith. Beginning with agreement that God
is true, into a knowing, a confidence and trust in God and going
on to a continuance in faith to walk in Him and with Him through
our everyday circumstances. The teachings on FAITH were the key
for these meetings, and it seem to awaken the people into a directive
of their lives and how they should live. The Lord had given our
daughter Darlene a song from the 27th Psalm before we left on
the trip, and upon arriving it was translated into Spanish. “THE
LORD IS OUR LIGHT AND OUR SALVATION, OF WHOM SHALL WE FEAR? THE
LORD IS THE STRENGTH OF MY LIFE: OF WHOM SHALL I BE AFRAID?” This
song took every church in Honduras by storm and they kept singing
and singing it. It was wonderful. We also ministered on the renewing
of the spirit of the mind, and it was a challenge to those who
heard and could grasp the importance of faith and obedience to
the Word of God for that change in the mind to take place. What
information we give our minds helps to form us and brings us along
that path of life, whatever it be -God centered or self-centered.
First we went to La Lima, to Iglesia Piedras Vivas Liderazgo,
a church we have been knowning for years and who have blessed
us over the years. We ministered to their pastors and leaders.
The EMUNA Ministry School in San Pedro Sula was a gathering of
many from San Pedro and other places to hear the Word of God.
Onward to La Ceiba to the Kayros Ministery where we have had input
for years, plus we ministered in two other churches in that area.
In the one church, Iglesia Rosa de Saron, the Lord moved in mighty
signs of healing. A testimony: Kayros ministry had fasted and
prayed for 40 days, as we prophesied what the Lord called for
in November 2005. The pastor’s wife had contracted malaria and
was very sick, and at the end of the church fasting of 40 days
she was much better. The land, which the church was sitting on,
was not going to be sold to Kayros, but after the fast the owner
came and said he changed his mind, and now negotiations are in
the making. Praise the Lord! We tell the story of Helen on this
trip; how she was delivered from demons after her family had taken
her to a witch so that she could sleep at nights. After we ministered
to Helen, she was able to sleep, praise the Lord. Also, there
was a little beauty shop where Darlene played her guitar and sang
Spanish, Christian songs to the little beauticians and soon the
whole shop was singing including the man who was getting his haircut.
We enjoyed that. There was a baby dedication up at La Cuesta as
part of the service, and it was good to see the families (old
friends) who had come down from the mountains just to be with
us. These were “The Followers of Jesus Christ”. Many folks received
the baptism of the Holy Spirit over this period of time in Honduras.
The ministry to the pastors association in Comayagua concerned
the need to know and separate some things that they had been hearing
that was wrong in doctrine, including the discussion about the
man who claims to be Jesus Christ and has a big following in the
Latin American countries. There was a time for questions and answers.
Then there is the story of those who knew us when they were children
and are now grown up; one had even been singing one of Rene’s
songs for years, and he said it was a blessing to him; he then
began to sing the song in English. It touched our hearts. The
churches of Camino Nuevo had fasted and prayed for 40 days in
Nov. 2005 and the Lord moved mightily through them. They now are
going to praise and worship the Lord 24 hours around the clock
for one week. That should be an experience, and it also teaches
discipline. This worship principle was actually done in Bangor,
Ireland, when the Celtic Monks sang to the Lord for 240 years
continually.
US ARMY MEDICAL TEAM AT COMAYAGUA
At Comayagua seven churches came together and soon folks started
pouring into the main church, well over 750 people. Darlene sang
her song and everyone was singing it, including our US military
that sat on the front row. Yes, we had in the congregation men
and women from the US Army medical teams in Honduras who help
the Honduran people with free operations, baby deliveries, binding
up wounds, building schools and highways. They were a fine Christian
group from the US and when we said Bro. John had been in the US
Navy for over 3 years, they all clapped -what a moment. We were
able to pray for them personally at the end of the service. We
were just blessed to be there.
Our last stop was Tegucigalpa, where we were with one of the Camino
Nuevo churches, which have a lovely team of worship. The last
Sunday we were with Pastor Miguel’s home church, where the Lord
prophesied to a professor of agriculture, that the ground in Honduras
would be fruitful and flourish under the direction of the Lord.
Carrots would be huge, along with other crops enough to feed many.
The Lord would show the professor how to unlock the gardens of
the earth. This is something to pray about.
And last, the last two meetings in the home in Tegucigalpa where
the Lord showed me (Rene) the vision of that home over 24 years
ago. Old friends came to these meetings and we delighted in seeing
them. We can’t forget our old friend Bro. Lazaro, who pulled out
John’s book in Spanish of “Faith in the Truth or a Lie.” -it was
tattered and soiled, and Bro. Lazaro said he has taught that message
in many churches and in the mountains. What a testimony! It was
also in that home where the Lord appeared in John’s room and told
him that Rene was to be his wife. See www.sonriseministries.net
for that story. We have had years of ministry in that home but
seasons change and the home is to be sold. We now wait for more
directions of the Lord.
So after this wonderful trip, we look forward again to the return
trips into Honduras, for we are sure they will still continue.
Amen!
